It was beautiful day here in the Northeast so I took the new TX and a
Whyte Wings Jade 100 inch span 6-servo sailplane out for test flights. The Jade uses ailerons on both channels 2 and 7 to set up differential deflection.  It also mixes aileron and rudder through a switch and flaps (throttle) with elevator for pitch stability in the landing. The encoder is housed in Series 79 Kraft TX case. The RFdeck is an old ACE on CH-08 with the Spectra modulation inverter although it's really not needed. It seems that the encoder can flip the pulses from the menu! Anyway, I tuned the deck to the longer Kraft antenna and it all fits very tidy in the case. A range check was performed walking away from the rear of the sailplane with the antenna collapsed to about 10 inches length. Range was better than 250 feet before the jitters set in. The TX will replace my old Futaba 9VAP on the same channel and is far easier to program.
My hat is off to both Gordon Anderson and Marv Jensen for the great
product  they have produced. Well done to you both.
