 All Metal w/Teflon Bearings Gimbals
(See description and prices below)
In addition to using these fine All metal w/Teflon bearings Gimbals in our own transmitters, we are presently working with FMA to install these Gimbals into the custom built version of their soon to be released T-200 Transmitter. That transmitter, when ready will be sold through FMA. You can find their site in the Links page.

There are various configurations for custom built Transmitters. Below is a Single stick Version that belongs to our boss.
Single Stick Version Transmitter
(See description and prices below)

Below is a Dual Stick Version
Custom Made Computerized Transmitters (Dual Stick version directly above)
(See description and prices below)
We manufacture custom made Transmitters. At the present time, our complete transmitter contains Gordon Andersons' design of a computerized encoder with a two line, 16 charactor Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) This system boasts all the latest features as other competition models have as well as 16 aircraft memory and automatic trim feature. Most of our sales are for the long awaited Single Stick version, however, we have Dual Stick Custom Made Computerized Transmitters versions available. In addition to these fine internals, we also sell individual components and or parts kits that are pictured below. We will also fabricate you a custom designed case, if you so desire. Just tell us how you would like to have it (the controls orientation) laid out and we will build it. If you would like to even design and do your own cut-outs, thats fine too.

MicroStar 2000
Components and Wiring Identification
Using the photo above of the MicroStar 2000 (M*2K) encoder board with the various wiring harnesses and attached components; the following is a brief description of what is being shown:
The center component that all of the wiring is connected to is the M*2K Encoder that has been fully populated with all of its individual electronic and mechanical parts that make up a complete Encoder.
Starting at the upper left hand corner is the 7 pin Din connector harness with mounting hardware. This harness plugs into pins 63 through 70 of J2. Red nail polish identifies pin 64. Also see the "Encoder J2 Pin Assignment sheet" herein below these descriptions. The coil of unused wiring is for future development
Moving clockwise in the photo above, the next item(s) is a controls wire bundle that goes to all of the control sticks, knobs, and switches. This harness is plugged into pins 1 through 62 of J2 connector strip. The nylon "tie ties" holding it together is simply for esthetics for this photo. In reality, the individual wire pigtails are neatly routed to their respective control component. See an example of a typical interior wiring herein below. Also see the "Encoder J2 Pin Assignment sheet" herein below these descriptions for detailed identification of the individual pigtails..
Moving clockwise in the photo above, the next item is the LCD. It plugs into the 14 pin connector of J3. The two flat 7 conductor ribbon cables and end connectors are included with the LCD. We offer two types of LCDs: 1) a 2 line 16 charactors per line, and 2) a 4 line 12 charactors per line. The 4 line 12 charactor display is cheeper, however, because of the included circuitry cost for the four line version, the price for each display is the same.
Moving clockwise in the photo above, the next item(s) are the mounting brackets with mounting hardware attached. They come with the encoder described above.
Located at the bottom of the board and to the left, in the photo above, is the 6 Pin Din connector. It goes from the out side of the case to J7 on the encoder board. Also attached to the 6 pin Din connector is the charging leads that go to the Power Harness that is discussed hereinbelow. Because of their common connection at the 6 Pin Din Connector, they are a combined component, and not sold separately.
Moving clockwise again in the photo above, the next item is the Power and Signal Cable going to the stand-alone RF Deck. When the soon to be produced synthesized RF Deck is used this harness/cable will be a 9 pin connector off of J6 of the encoder board. At the present time, only the three conductor power and signal cable is depicted and priced.
The last item coming off the left side of the encoder is the Power Harness . It connects to J1 of the encoder. One set of power leads go to the 6 pin Din connector (the charging leads). A third set of power leads go to the attached fuse, which in turn will connect to the battery pack. That leaves the three red wires that connect to the power switch. The longest of these red wires goes to the "on" side of the power switch. The mid length wire goes to the center post(s) of the power switch. The shortest wire goes to the "off" side (charging) of the switch

Encoder J2 Pin Assignment By: Marv Jensen
The following Table depicts the Standard pin assignments for J2 on the Encoder.
The view orientation is with the Encoder on its' speaker end and looking straight at the end of the pins, with the foil side to the right.
There are ten (10) 3 pin connectors, and 16 of the 2 pin connectors. Both types of these connectors are razor sawn from the 36 pin single row female connectors that are listed as item 39 on the parts list (Digikey P/N 929974-01-36-ND). The 3 pin connectors are utilized on pins # 1 through 30. The 2 pin connectors are utilized fro pin # 31 through 62. The 8 pin connector that utilizes pins # 63 through 70 are razor sawn from the 36 pin dual row female connectors that are listed as item 51 on the parts list (Digikey P/N 929975-01-36-ND). It is four pins long and two pins wide.
The solid black strip represents the Foil side of PCB

(2) I have both styles i.e., The latest ratchet style that was on the True MP8Ks, and the older clutch style such as the ones used for channels 6&7 on the Silver Sevens.
(3) This switch has three locking positions: "ON" for RF Deck "A" , Center "OFF", and "ON for RF Deck "B". The locked Center "OFF" position is used during Buddy Box Operations( Student's Transmitter or "Slave"), and during Simulator control. It basically save battery power by not radiating RF energy.
(4) Besides the mounting bolt, there are three separate pieces used for the antenna mounting base: straight or angled top piece, and universal bottom piece. Individual pieces are priced above plus $3.20 postage. A complete pair, for angled or straight is $ $8.00 plus $3.20 postage.
(5) This is a complete rudder control assembly for a Single Stick configuration. It includes the rudder knob assembly complete with Potentiometer, centering mechanism, and top dress cover disk. A section of stick tubing is included, as is 8" pieces of red, black, and yellow wires. If you want the wires installed, there is a $10.00 additional charge.
(6) This is also available as a kit with a schematic, and all required components for $18.00
(7) The Kickstand enables your transmitter to rest at a comfortable angle. At the present time, only the dual stick version
is available.
(8) Request current list of available frequencies.
(9) Request current list of available frequencies.
(10) This switch is also available as a kit to make up and install the complete Dual RF Deck switching provision. It includes: (1) Three position, lift to unlock switch, as described in Note (3) above. Enough color coded wire for the installation. Enough Male and Female Deans connectors both two prong and three prong. Enough heat shrink tubing for the job. A set of installation instructions. Kit Price is $32.00
(11) This kit includes everything you need for the installation of an Alternate aircraft switch, including, wiring, heat shrink tubing, solder, and a set of Instructions. It could also be used for a Landing Gear switch. specify
(12) This kit includes everything you need for the installation of a Snap Roll Switch, including, wiring, heat shrink tubing, solder, and a set of Instructions.
(13) This kit is meant to be a replacement switch kit for the flap switch.
(14) These headers are a replacement for the 3 Pin Headers used on the Encoder board for the four Trim Circuits. They also work very nicely for conversion over from Deans wire lead connectors out of the ProStar, and the Pro 810 receivers.. These headers fit the circuit boards in these receivers. You simply unsolder the wires for the Deans connectors and replace them with the 3 Pin header. All JR, Futaba, Hitec, and FMA universal servo connectors will fit this header. Airtronics will physically fit the header, but you must change the orientation/polarity of the servo connector.
(15) These connectors are universal female servo connectors that will work with all JR, Futaba, Hitec, and FMA universal servo connectors. Please note that Airtronics has a different and unique pin orientation.
(16) Same connector as (15) except it is a Male connector. Used for making servo lead extensions.
(17) These are new Gimbals Assemblies. The description explains their use. They incorporate the Laurmar Teflon Bearing feature. Potentiometers are installed and mechanically centered. They must be electronically centered after installation in accordance with instructions in the MP8K Operations Manual. Control Stick and Knob sub assembly are sold separately. In the case of a Single Stick model, the Rudder stick and control knob assembly is sold hereinabove and described in Note (5). Use Gimbals Assembly P/N LAU1E/A for normal Single Stick applications, along with the Rudder Knob and stick assembly.
(18) This is a per Gimbals Set price for each of the Dual Stick Gimbals (Stick Assembly) The upgrade price for a Single Stick Gimbals set is $35.00. This is due to the extra labor cost to remove and reinstall the set of wires for the Rudder pot. The prices for these Gimbals upgrades includes Labor for removal/reinstallation, Potentiometer linearity checks, accomplishing the Teflon bearing upgrade to the gimbals, electronic centering of A/D values, and centering of Joysticks. It does not cover potentiometer, or other individual gimbals components replacement if they are required.
We notify the customer when we find that a gimbals component piece or pot is bad, to get their permission to replace the part in question.
